About
Us Victorian Nursing Services,
Inc. is a Florida state-licensed nurse registry, committed to
finding competent and caring assistance for people in Broward and
Palm Beach counties.
Victorian offers both in-hospital or facility care (private duty
caregivers) and in-home care (home health aides, certified nursing
assistants, companions, etc.) to provide personalized, one-on-one
care.
Our Goal We help our
clients to remain as independent in their own home or apartment for
as long as possible and maintain or improve their overall quality of
life.
Specializing In Elder
Care We are very well-versed in providing short
and long-term care for the elderly and in providing carefully
selected caregivers to meet the special needs of our
clients.
Our background in caring for the elderly also
applies to the care of convalescing patients. After surgery or any
other serious health event, temporary in-home care from Victorian
can help recovering patients “meet short and long term
needs.”
Locations Victorian
serves Broward and Palm Beach counties, with offices in Deerfield
Beach and Delray Beach, Florida. We accept most long term care and
home health insurance policies as well as private pay arrangements.
(For more information on Victorian’s payment policy, please see
FAQs)
Our
Caregivers Certified nursing assistants, home
health aides and other caregivers who are candidates to join
Victorian’s nurse registry first have to pass Victorian’s stringent
requirements. All are tested by Victorian then screened through the
Florida Department of Law Enforcement for criminal backgrounds.
Also, references are thoroughly checked, licenses and certifications
are verified and a current physical exam is obtained. We feel that
when it comes to safety and quality-of-life issues, we want to take
every precaution.
Insurance We require the
certified nursing assistants, home health aides and companions who
work as independent contractors for Victorian to carry $500,000
liability insurance. Victorian Nursing Services, Inc. as a company
is covered by a separate liability insurance policy.

Frequently
Asked Questions (Back Home)
What Insurance do you
accept? For in-home care of the elderly, Victorian
accepts most long term care insurance and home health care
insurance. We also accept private pay arrangements if the care
needed is not covered by insurance. Medicare and medicare
supplemental insurance generally does not cover long term in-home
care such as Victorian provides.
For in-hospital care,
private duty caregivers are available by private pay arrangements
only. Many patients and their families choose to add a private duty
caregiver for the first night after surgery (as an example), simply
for the peace of mind it provides.
For in-home care after a
hospital stay, home health care is covered by certain long term
health insurance policies. Check with Victorian. Prior to
hospitalization, we will check benefits and coordinate your care
with your insurance company and doctor.
What about
the caregiver? Is it safe to let these persons (who I don’t really
know) into my home? Victorian puts everyone who wants to
join our nurse registry through a stringent screening process, which
includes:
• Skills/Knowledge Test • Liability
Insurance • CPR Certification • Criminal background check •
Reference check • Verify licenses and certifications •
Physical exam • Personal interview
We believe our
demanding screening process results in better-qualified and more
reliable caregivers.
What if I don’t like the
caregiver? We do our best to match up compatible
caregivers with those who need care. Obviously, we have to consider
a number of factors such as experience, skill level and personality
– along with availability. Usually, everything works out good, but
occasionally the chemistry just isn’t right. If this happens, we
will work with you to find a suitable match.
